Level 3

General (Stress) Information

A certain amount of stress can be a good thing as it acts to motivate action.  However, when it exceeds an optimum level it can cause anxiety which generates unease, distress, panic and feelings of wanting to escape.
The level of stress that can be tolerated varies from one person to another.  It also has a cumulative affect so people who have stress in other areas of their lives may be experiencing much higher levels.
At some point, the stress starts to have a negative impact on the person’s ability to think clearly, form judgments, make reasoned decisions and eventually it can overcome their ability to cope.
